Stoke Summer Spend
Whatever the fate of Stoke City this season the club are in drastic need of a number of new faces this summer. Tony Pulis' side are in some much needed fire power in attack as they have lacked goals all season. One of these targets being 20 year old 6'4" Denmark international Andreas Cornelius who has really impressed in his home league (Danish Superleague) for FC Copenhagen having really established himself as the leagues top goalscorer with 17 goals so far this season and in doing so has led to an international call up and scoring on his debut last month. This youngster should be someone to look out for in the future and would be a good capture for the Potters as fellow international Thomas Sorensen has said in a recent interview. He should fit in well with the current Stoke side as they play a 'route 1' approach to most games.
Another player linked to the Potters this summer is veteran defender Phil Neville from Everton who has recently said he will not be playing another season at Goodison Park. Neville recently said in an interview that he wouldn't mind dropping down to the second tier of English football if needed to get first team football, so if Stoke were to suffer relegation this season Neville may be the ideal signing for the Potters despite some football pundits claiming he may have another season left in him in the top flight
Another player linked with Tony Pulis' side is highly rated up and coming star Marcos Alonso from Bolton. Alonso learnt his trade as a wingback from Real Madrid as he worked his way up the ranks and even managed one appearance for the first team in 2010 but then moved to Bolton when they were a premier league side but now has been linked with Stoke as Pulis may now feel he's ready for the Premier League.
