Kilmarnock sign AFCON Winner

Scottish Premier League outfit Kilmarnock have signed Reuben Gabriel, who was part of the Nigeria team that won the African Cup of Nations this year.

The 22 year old will join up with manager Kenny Shields who also signed fellow Nigerian Rabiu Ibrahim in January from league leaders Celtic.

Gabriel will go straight into first team plans in an effort to push Kilmarnock further up the Scottish rankings.

The midfielder has scored one goal in ten appearances for his national side, but aims to improve his scoring record when he makes his debut next wednesday.

Gabriel scored the first goal against Malawi in Nigeria's 2012 World Cup qualifier in the 89th minute, but his goal was cancelled out almost a minute later. Following this he was called up to the 23-man squad for Nigeria's 2013 Africa Cup of Nations campaign.
