European Round Up

A quick round up from the Leagues in Italy and Germany.......................
Bayern show no mercy to Hamburg
It was very good day for Bayern Munich, then it was also a terrible day for HSV Hamburg. Bayern completely obliterated their rivals, an astonishing 9-2, with man of the match Claudio Pizarro, who completed a 4 goal rout to his name, also added to the score sheet was Shaquiri, Bastian Swchiensteiger, Arjen Robben and Franck Ribery. This was a step closer to their title, as they lead the hunt by a huge 20 point gap, it also prevented them from winning the title in March due to Borussia Dortmund sealing a last gasp win in Stuttgart with goals from Lukasz Piszczek and top scorer Robert Lewandowski.

Juve edging closer to retaining title
Juventus took a significant step towards a second successive Scudetto by battling their way to a 2-1 victory over Inter in Saturday's Derby d'Italia at San Siro
. The former Cagliari man, Alessandro Matri created the opener for Fabio Quagliarella with a sublime dummy before then popping up to net the winner, after Rodrigo Palacio had briefly levelled matters for Inter Milan. Elsewhere in the Serie A the race for the champions league spot is still being pursued by AC Milan, where they travelled to Chievo to get a 1-0 win, thanks Riccardo Montolivo who scored the only goal for them, with Mario Balotelli being the inspiration for the team. This also made the Rosoneri win 4 consecutive games. Lazio fired two goals in the space of two minutes at the Olimpico on Saturday to complete a notable 2-1 comeback success over Catania, with goals coming for the blues coming Miroslav Klose and Antonio Candreva.
