Stoke - Southampton Match Report
Crouch was on
target as stoke picked up a point on the final day of the season which at St
Mary's against Southampton.
Southampton went very close within the first minute when Adam Lallana saw his low shot parried by Asmir Begovic onto the post and Rickie Lambert followed up and slotted the ball into the back of the net; however the linesman correctly ruled it offside. Lambert then shot from about 20 yards out but it was to no avail
Crouch headed
the potters ahead on 47 minutes against his former side after Geoff Cameron ran
to the right hand side and crossed the ball into crouch as he got ahead of Jose
Fonte to head the potters 1-0 up
The saints
later equalised on 57 minutes when stoke poorly cleared Lallana's free kick and
Begovic parried the shop straight to the feet of Lambert who slotted the saints
level
Former
England star Michael Owen came on Wyeth 16 minutes to go and made his final
appearance as a professional footballer but unfortunately he couldn't add to
his superb tally as a striker as the game ended at one a piece
