Barton Bullied for Opinion
Despite recent media claims about ‘vile’ rants from football
bad-boy Joey Barton, the Englishman was actually in support of his parent club
and had his words twisted by numerous journalists.
The hot-headed midfielder had been loaned out from QPR to
Olympic Marseille following an FA disciplinary subjecting him to being side-lined
following heated confrontations with numerous Manchester City players in the
final game of the 2011-12 Premier league campaign.
The regular
tweeter was at his normal self on Sunday night giving his opinion on general
footballing matters from David Beckham’s red card to his love for French outfit
Marseille. It was prior to this that
journalists gathered some fuel after he ranted about Joe Bosingwa laughing as
he walked down the tunnel following QPR’s relegation from the Barclays Premier
League, with Barton stating that it was an embarrassment and Bosingwa should
show some guts.
Prior to
this Barton had offered his luck to QPR via social networking site Twitter and
continued to show his support through the day declaring that he feels sorry for
QPR after being relegated and that he was “gutted”.
Journalists
have been quick to jump on the Barton bandwagon as they continue to portray him
a dark light expressing him as ‘vile’, however alike any other football fan he
too is entitled to his opinion and he showed that via Twitter. Journalists were
raring to go following their much needed fuel to spark up some more controversy
over Barton after he feel from the headlines following a very smart decision to
leave England and play across the channel.
Despite this,
it is not a shock that many journalists have branded him with such terms of
address and expressed his opinion in a very negative way as it was not
intended. Barton was one of the first people to anticipate such response as he
tweeted “For the record, before tomorrow’s papers say ‘Barton has a go at QPR’
I haven’t I have had a pop at players”. This tweet was mainly intended for the joyful
Jose Bosingwa amongst other players who moved for the money; Barton also did
the same, stating it was the worst decision of his life.
The cooled
midfielder is set to meet with QPR representatives at the end of the season to
discuss his future, of which he hopes lays at Marseille.
