Hammers break a Bony
Chelsea owner Roman Abramovich is reported to have a link
with Vittese which could see the West London club get first call on Bony who
has been labelled ‘the next Didier Drogba’.
West Ham are, however leading the race but it has been
touted that their interest was nothing but a publicity stunt from joint
chairman David Sullivan in the wake of the Hammers securing their move to the
iconic Olympic Stadium.
Bony currently has 26 goals in 24 appearances for the Dutch
club Vittese and was very close to a Premier League move in January but wasn’t allowed
to leave as Vittese push for a Champions league spot.
West Ham is probably leading the chase for Bony of whom they
feel can push them in the right direction, but talks seem to have broken down.
Bony is suggested to have declared about £55,000 per week, which may have
knocked the East London outfit off the track.
Time will tell as many a club race for his signature but
being an un-proven Premier League goal scorer may lead to a problem, as many
overseas players have turned out to be flops. For example Afonso Alves for
Middlesbrough … we all know how that went.
Will the Hammers win the race for a second time this week or
are they punching above their weight?
